Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) allows gaming applications and voice clients to dynamically request port openings on your router's firewall. Without open ports, multiplayer matchmakers struggle to negotiate direct peer-to-peer audio and game state synchronization.

Configuration Guidelines

Ensure UPnP is set to Enabled in your router's Advanced / Firewall settings. If certain competitive games still report "Strict NAT", configure static IP DHCP reservations and set up dedicated manual Port Forwarding rules for UDP ports 3074, 3097, and 27015-27030.
